Handicraft work at the open-air museum Zeiteninsel
Handwerk und Technik
The Zeiteninsel in Weimar-Argenstein is an archaeological open-air museum that is currently being built. We are looking for support with the realisation of smaller and larger building projects as well as help with site maintenance. Volunteers can, for example, carry out woodwork in the construction of doors or shutters for the (re-)constructed houses. During the „work assignments“, which take place on the first Saturday of every month, wattle and daub walls are woven, for example. Volunteers should enjoy manual labour and interacting with people. People interested in archaeology are also welcome.
What is on offer? A special working environment with unusual activities, teaching of old craft techniques, professional exchange with other volunteers, equipment with work tools.
Time frame? Depending on the project, work assignments approx. 4 hours; for construction projects also longer, e.g. a whole weekend.
